What Forrest Gump and Kettlebells Have In Common With The Average American

By Greg Diener

In this ever changing landscape, it is never easy for any person in their field, along with figuring out where to turn at. Nothing ever goes where we want it to go, (I wanted to be a fireman as a kid) we never know where we are going to be as adults. You know that famous quote from the movie Forrest Gump rings true about life being a box of chocolates. It seems though for many people around the country, looking for a job seems like trying to lift kettlebells. Wait a minute, you might be saying just what are those, well here's the answer.

Think of your life up to this date as weightlifting, tediously drudging away to get through each day and slowly building up muscle. Lifting weights isn't always fun, but it takes practice, determination, and work ethic. Still, after a while, going through the movements can become dull and you could not be seeing the results you desire. It could be that you're no longer interested in your chosen major at school or you find yourself stuck in the daily grind at a dead-end job. This is where kettlebells come in.

You could be reading this and still be thinking "what do kettlebells offer for me?" It is clear to see why, these weights have been outstanding for people as you will soon find out. Kettlebells are shaped like a ball with a handle on the top of it. This breaks the kettlebell away from other types of exercise equipment. If you have been looking for a good pick me up, it will give you a new interest in your life.

People don't just need a job - they want a career path. Usually, we would all like to be able to find exactly what we want to most and get paid for the work we get done. But it's not that easy - like a workout program, finding the right fit for you could involve trial and error. Most importantly, you need to be flexible, motivated, and have the stamina to keep going even when you want to give up. I bet the metaphor has begun to make more sense now.

Whether you think of your life and the search for a career in terms of heart-shaped boxes of chocolate or lifting weights at the gym, it's important to remember that the decision isn't simple for anyone. If we could all be the astronauts, superheroes, and fairy princesses we imagined of being as kids, we would be. If we could all be satisfied in our first chosen career paths, we would be. Some of us our fortunate enough for that to happen, but for others it takes a bit of trial and error. The crucial thing is to find your strengths and what makes you the happiest and stick with it.
