Understanding The Difference Between Diet Programs That Do And Do Not Work

By Guy Woldt

Many people, including me, have gone through this same scenario at least once in their lives: we want to lose weight, so we begin reading about diet plans trying to know which one is best. Yet we discover lots of conflicting opinions that we're utterly lost. This makes it extremely difficult to actually take action and begin doing the things should be carried out.

There are hundreds of diets now available on the web, and the majority of them will try to force you to just eat certain products, while at the same time telling you to stop consuming this or that. This is an entirely incorrect approach, however people will still purchase into it because it's very simple and takes all the work out of the process.

I stated earlier that all diets work, for as long as you stick to a certain rule. The rule is that you must eat less calories than your body burns. There's no single diet regime in the world that will make you lose fat if you do not stick to this guideline.

Say there is a diet regime that says you should only consume 5 products (I'm making this up right now only for the sake of the argument, but bare with me): chicken, cottage cheese, veggies and eggs. The author of the diet guarantees that as long as you adhere to these 5 products only, you are going to lose fat.

You begin looking at testimonials about the diet, and you look for a few people who truly managed to drop bodyweight into it. Heck, you might even have a close friend who managed to achieve just that with this particular diet plan. After a few extra minutes of study, nevertheless, it happens that there are several individuals who never managed to lose a single pound, and maybe also gained weight on that diet! How is that possible?

Some people were consuming much more calories than their body burns on that diet, whilst others were consuming less than their body burns. The latter group is the one that loses weight. However, because diet authors rarely get into detail about this crucial point, it gets a hit and miss for most people - they simply consume the 5 products in the list on a regular basis and hope that this will certainly let them to lose fat in and by itself. Some will get blessed and eat less calories than they burn and therefore drop some fat. Others won't be so happy.
