Fitness is not an easy thing to maintain properly, but it is one that rewards you ten-fold for all the work you put in. But, you have to realize that to be healthy, this is something we all must do. Luckily, you do not need to go the extreme. All you really need to do is put a little effort in each day to be fit. You could have fun as well.

Are you aware that PlayStation, XBOX, and Wii can get you into shape? Pick up a Nintendo Wii and get yourself games such as Wii Fit and Dance Revolution, or any game that gets you on your feet and moving around.

Do you think that you are too busy to stay fit? Divide your exercise routine into two parts. You do not need to increase the overall amount of time spent working out, just split a regular training session into two smaller halves. Rather than spending 60 minutes jogging, run for half an hour near the beginning of your day and then again nearer the end. If you're not interested in two trips to the gym, get one in somewhere else you find more preferable.

Exercise on a daily basis. Doing this means that there is a purpose to your hard work. Daily exercise also helps make exercising a habit. Make sure to save some of the days for lighter exercise, though, so that you don't overload your body.

You should never do extreme diets or go overboard with exercise. Not only do you risk joint and muscle damage, dehydration and heart problems, by pushing yourself too hard, you'll also reach an anaerobic state, where fat is no longer being metabolized.

Practice like a Kenyan to improve your running speed. Kenyan runners train by starting the first part of the run at a slow and steady pace. As your run progresses, gradually increase the pace. While you are in the middle third, increase your pace to run at normal speed. During the end of your run, run at your fastest pace. If you can do that, over time you are going to see differences in your endurance and speed times.

Don't waste a lot of time on your workout wardrobe. Choose neutral colors and separate the clean clothes from the dirty ones. This will make your clothing match, and it will be easier for you to pick clothes out if you are pressed for time. Another thing that will be effortless is laundry time. Since everything is neutral you can just toss it in the wash and be on your way.

Start a garden. Starting a garden requires a lot of hard physical work. You must dig holes, do some weeding, and lots of squatting. Gardening is one of the best hobbies to help get you in shape.

To give your body fuel for workouts and to raise your fitness level you should have a balanced intake of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats. Try a combination of 45 percent protein, 35 percent carbs and 20 percent fats. All of your meals should contain protein, because it helps build and nourish muscle.

No one said fitness was always easy or fun, but if you approach it the right way, it can feel more of both. You should not have to begin your path to good fitness all alone. All you have to do is find the help and decide for yourself that you want to be fit.
